Bob Drummond, Ed. D President and CEO
Dr. Bob Drummond has been President and CEO of KidsTLC since August of 2001. Prior to that he served for thirty years at MidAmerica Nazarene University, most of that time as a professor and University Vice President.
Bob received his Doctorate in Counseling Psychology from Kansas University in 1980 with Post-Doctoral work at Harvard University.
He was a member of the Olathe School Board, is on the United Way of Greater Kansas City Board, a Trustee for the Johnson County Community College, Board member for Children’s Alliance as well as several other boards. Bob is also an author and speaker, as well as husband, father and grandfather.
KidsTLC on Campus Psychiatric Residential Treatment Team
Mark Siegmund, MA, LPC, LCPC Chief Clinical Officer
Mark Siegmund has been a counselor for 27 years in Missouri, New Hampshire, and Kansas working extensively with children, adolescents and families. Mark has presented locally and nationally on Trauma-Focused Care, Youth with Sexual Behavior Problems and other topics such as Peaceful Parenting and Adolescent Development and Sexuality.
Mark has worked with foster families and in residential care for over 20 years. He has formulated KidsTLC Autism Program set to open in 2012, and is working with a variety of distinguished experts in the field throughout the country.
George Thompson, Jr., M.D., F.A.P.A, PRTF Medical Director
Dr. George, as the staff and kids call him, is a board-certified child and adolescent psychiatrist with a long history of successful treatment of children with complex mental illnesses. He earned his medical degree from the University of Texas, Southwestern Medical School in Dallas, and studied child, adolescent and adult psychiatry at the Karl Menninger School of Psychiatry in Topeka. He was the Director of Residency Training at Menninger when the clinic moved to Texas. He is an associate professor of psychiatry and medical education at the UMKC School of Medicine, where he teaches medical communication skills to future doctors.
Dr. George is an innovator when it comes to guiding adolescents and children to exploring their own behaviors and giving them and their families the tools to modify the behaviors they want to change.
Roy Rotz, Ph.D. VICE-PRESIDENT FOR CLINICAL SERVICES
Dr. Roy Rotz is responsible for the clinical supervision and oversight of the daily work of the KidsTLC team of therapists and case coordinators who work through our psychiatric residential treatment facility (PRTF). He is also guiding the KidsTLC program for outpatient services set to open in 2012.
He earned his doctorate from Kansas State University in Family Life Education and Consultation, 2003
Roy has a background of marriage and family therapy. He has diagnosed and worked with children and adults with a variety of issues including anxiety and depression, PTSD, ADHD, Oppositional Defiance and Narcissistic Personality and Borderline Personality.
Roy has extensive experience with therapies designed for children who have been traumatized. Roy has presented to numerous groups nationally and locally on a variety of topics that address marriage and family issues. He has been instrumental in starting a graduate program for marriage and family therapy and professional counseling at MidAmerica Nazarene University in Olathe, as well as starting the post-master’s certification in Play Therapy at MNU
Toni Stagg, MSN, ARNP -Director of Nursing
Toni is a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner here at KidsTLC. She has a B.S.N. from Southwestern College in Winfield, Kansas and earned her M.S.N. from Wichita State University.
Toni manages medication for children here at KidTLC, supervises the nursing staff and is part of the therapy/treatment team for all of the children and adolescents here.
Toni many years of experience working with children in residential and in home settings and has provided consulting services for many organizations.
Christine Fuhrman, LCSW, Vice President of Integrated Behavioral Health Solutions
Christine is a licensed Clinical Social Worker who received her Master’s Degree in clinical social work from the University of Denver with an emphasis on adolescents and trauma. She has been in the field 10 years working with children, adolescents and families in a variety of residential and community based settings. She has been with KidsTLC since 2007.
Christine’s key responsibilities include administrative and clinical oversight of our residential and community based programs for children, adolescents and families and she will oversee our Integrated Behavioral Health services program set to open in 2012.
Brandon Mock, MS, ATR-BC, LPC, LMFT, Phoenix Program Director
Brandon Mock joined the KidsTLC team in January of 2010 and serves as the Phoenix Program Director within the psychiatric residential treatment programs. He oversees the therapeutic milieu of Phoenix and provides assessment, individual, group, family, and creative arts therapy services. Brandon has worked extensively with children and adolescents who have suffered early childhood abuse and neglect. He has trained practitioners and students in the treatment of multi-traumatized children who present a wide range of challenging and problematic behaviors.
Brandon is a licensed marriage and family therapist and a registered and board certified art therapist with over a decade of clinical experience working with children and families in residential and outpatient settings.
Lauren Hentchel PRTF Intake & Customer Service Director
Lauren is often the first person a parent or caregiver speaks to when they admit a child to KidsTLC on campus residential treatment facility.
Lauren is calm and reassuring in a time that is often quite stressful for clients and their families.
Lauren is originally from Michigan where she attended Alma College. She graduated in 2002 with a BA in Psychology, Sociology and Anthropology. She will finish her masters in 2012.
Lauren has been with KidsTLC since September 2004
Diane McIntosh- Senior Program Director for Phoenix
Diane is known to the kids and much of the staff here at KidsTLC as “Mamma D.”
She worked with Jackson County DFS as a parent aid supervising all family court ordered visits, parenting and behavior management. Diane has been a foster mom through Missouri. Diane believes the key to working with the kids in psychiatric residential treatment is to remember that there are no bad kids, just bad situations that the child needs to overcome. Diane believes that respect and trust are the best ways to build positive relationships with these children. Diane has been with KidsTLC since 2007.
Roderick K. Davis – Phoenix Program Manger
Rod has been the Phoenix Program Manager shortly after its opening in June of 2010 and has worked at KidsTLC since September of 2009.
Rod has worked in Psychiatric Residential Facilities for 15 years, he has worked in many different capacities, and he has been a mental health tech on a pre adolescent unit, worked as a Program Supervisor, Staff Trainer and a Program Manager. Rod is also a certified trainer in Safe Crisis Management.
Rod as has a belief that “children will do well if they can” Rod is great at problem solving with children and helping them develop skills that are useful when they graduate from KidsTLC.
Rod graduated from the University of Missouri; during his 4 years Rod was wide-receiver/special team’s player on the football team and lettered 3 years. Rod has a son that plays football for the University of Wyoming.
Resource Family Services- Foster Care
Teresa Johnston-Arndt, LMSW, Associate Vice-President of Resource Family Services-Foster Care
Teresa is a licensed Social worker who received her Master’s Degree in social work from the University of Kansas and an undergraduate degree in Sociology from Emporia State University. She has been with KidsTLC since May of 1992. She was hired as a case worker in the foster care program and later worked for adoption services with her emphasis on writing adoptive family assessments for families. She became the director of Resource Family Services in 2004. Teresa along with three other social workers in the program recruit, train and license resource families and then work to ensure placement of foster children in the most appropriate resource homes. Teresa began her career working at a boy’s residential center in Emporia and then moved to the Kansas City area to finish her Master’s degree. Teresa also has experience working at a girl’s residential shelter and an emergency shelter for children birth to twelve years old.
Street Outreach Services
Jason Stary, Street Outreach Supervisor
Jason Stary is the point person for KidsTLC Street Outreach Services or SOS program that reaches out to homeless teens on the streets of the Greater Kansas City Area.
Jason graduated from Park University in 2001 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Communication Theory & Human Relations and a minor in Public Relations.
He has worked in several non-profit organizations including Camp Fire USA, Hillcrest Transitional Living and Avant Ministries. Jason worked in Central Asia for 15 months before coming to KidsTLC in 2009.
James Amos: KidsTLC Chaplain
Jamos, as he is called by everyone at KidsTLC has BA in Christian Education, and a Master of Arts in Spiritual Formation. He has been an Ordained Elder in the Church of the Nazarene since 1991 and received
Received Chaplaincy Endorsement by the Church of the Nazarene in 2010.
Jamos has served over 22-years as youth and college pastor in local churches in Kentucky, South Carolina, Missouri and Kansas.
Jamos has been a serving children here at KidsTLC since 2008
Kim Schreiner, MBA l Chief Financial Officer
Kim has been with TLC since August 2005. Her MBA in Management is from the University of Dallas
Kim has a double BS in Accounting and Administration from Peru State College
In the corporate world Kim’s experience has been with Helzberg Diamonds, Applebee’s and McDonald’s. Today Kim uses all of her education and experience to ensure KidsTLC finances are in order. Her efforts have resulted in some of the best financial ratings a charitable agency can receive.
Elizabeth Alex, Sr. Vice President for Community and Governmental Relations
Elizabeth is responsible for communicating with KidsTLC friends, donors and local, state and national lawmakers about topics that impact our families and children.
Elizabeth is the primary story teller for KidsTLC on our website, email, and social media.
Elizabeth enjoyed a long career as a television journalist and community volunteer before coming to KidsTLC in 2011.
Elizabeth has won numerous awards for reporting on topics ranging from health care, to environmental issues, to humanitarian causes. She left the world of news to tell the story of KidsTLC.
RuAnn Bottles, Vice President Human Resources
RuAnn came to KidsTLC in May of 2008 after 9 years in the corporate world of Recruitment and Benefits Management. She has a MA in Organizational Administration and Leadership.
RuAnn loves the non-profit world and the opportunity to make a difference in the lives of children who are risk.
She and her dedicated team of Human Resources Professionals work tirelessly to support the front line staff who are who are transforming lives in crisis every day…
Jessica Luth, Associate Vice President of Development
Jessica leads the KidsTLC Development Team for Annual Fundraising and Events throughout the year.
Jessica came to KidsTLC in 2005 after the merge with KidsTLC and KEYS Youth Services. She started her career at Boys Town in Nebraska, and has a background in direct care working with teens and their families.
This work makes Jessica uniquely qualified in our development efforts because she understands the needs first hand.
Jessica loves working with volunteers and donors to share the stories of the kids and families who have been touched by our services.
Krystal Wright, Vice President of Campus Management
Krystal Wright leads the Information Technology, Risk Management, and Campus
Management, Food Service and Housekeeping teams at KidsTLC.
Krystal has been working in the kid helping business for 19 years and became a
member of the KidsTLC team in 2005 when Keys Youth Services, where she served
in many capacities for 10 years, merged with TLC.
Krystal’s diverse background in childcare facility operations and her ability to wear
many hats make her the go to person for support in project management and
smooth day-to-day operations.
Krystal loves knowing the focus on unity and attitude of service at TLC goes to
something really special in serving to transform lives in crisis and to giving every child a
chance to realize their own unique potential.
