“There is no such thing as a perfect parent, so just be a real one.”
Sue Atkins
The challenges faced by kids and their families can be daunting and dangerous.
Right here in our community you will find many kids who are exposed to drug and alcohol addiction, physical, verbal and sexual abuse, or domestic violence in their own homes.
The teenage years, which are often difficult under the best of circumstances, can become filled with conflict and anger when a family is struggling under the weight of financial problems or when a single parent who is shouldering all of the household responsibility loses a job.
We see the results of this pressure on the family; kids in crisis run away, engage in risky behaviors, are placed in foster care, or find themselves kicked out of the home.
The community outreach experts at KidsTLC have the programs, the knowledge and the heart to meet each family where they are without judgment.
We bring families together whenever possible, and find the resources to help kids in crisis when the decision must be made to keep family members apart.
