The Choices Group Program works with youth aged 10-17 to discuss healthy choices and develop positive decision-making skills.  We use games, crafts, stories, videos and discussion to learn how to make good choices in challenging situations.

Who?

Choices groups are great for youth 10-17 who:

  • Have made some mistakes in the past and don’t want to repeat them;
  • Have made some good decisions in the past and want to stay in control of their future; or
  • Want to learn more about who they are and how they can stick to their values.

If any of these statements describe you or your child, consider joining Choices!

 What?

Choices groups teach you how to stop and think before you act, how to consider the consequences of your actions, and how to learn from past experiences.  The groups meet 10-13 times for 45-90 minutes.

When?

Call us at 913-972-3496 for the most up-to-date information on the dates and times of current groups.

 Where?

KidsTLC holds Choices groups on our campus and in the community.  Call us for information on the locations of current groups, or to learn how to start a group in your school, church, youth program, or organization.

Why?

Here is what past participants have said about the program and why you should join:

  • “Thank you sooo much for helping me and helping me make the right choices”
  • “I liked how helpful talking about things was and I liked how friendly the leader people were”
  • “Thank you for helping me understand myself better”
  • “It was interesting and fun and good”
  • “[It helped me] identify healthy and non-healthy relationships”
  • When asked what suggestions do you have for making the group better… “do it more often!”

Cost:

KidsTLC offers Choices classes for only $2/session to cover the cost of snacks and materials.
